SAMAA Proficiency Rating Criteria for NASA Pilots

In Line with the SAMAA MOP "Proficiency Tests and Merit Awards for Fixed Wing Powered Models  Issue 2- June 2011,  Paragraph 8.8, Proficiency Qualification through a SIG."  NASA has had the following criteria ratified by the SAMAA Proficiency Sub-committee to enable scale pilots to obtain fixed wing proficiency awards through their performance at National and International Scale Contests.

SAMAA Proficiency Ratings will be awarded to NASA pilots according to achievements during participation at NASA recognised national competitions.

 



  • A SAMAA Bronze Proficiency Rating will be awarded to any NASA Sport Scale or NASA Stand-off- Scale or higher category pilot who has achieved a minimum average flying score of 50% at any recognised national competition.
  • A SAMAA Silver Proficiency Rating will be awarded to any NASA Sport Scale or SAMAA Stand-off-Scale or higher category pilot who has achieved a minimum average flying score of 55% at any recognised national competition.
  • A SAMAA Gold Proficiency Rating will be awarded to any NASA Sport Scale or NASA Stand-off-Scale or higher category pilot who has achieved a minimum average flying score of 60% at any recognised national competition.
