SAMAA Proficiency Rating Criteria for NASA Pilots
In Line with the SAMAA MOP "Proficiency Tests and Merit Awards for Fixed Wing Powered Models Issue 2- June 2011, Paragraph 8.8, Proficiency Qualification through a SIG." NASA has had the following criteria ratified by the SAMAA Proficiency Sub-committee to enable scale pilots to obtain fixed wing proficiency awards through their performance at National and International Scale Contests.
- A SAMAA Bronze Proficiency Rating will be awarded to any NASA Sport Scale or NASA Stand-off- Scale or higher category pilot who has achieved a minimum average flying score of 50% at any recognised national competition.
- A SAMAA Silver Proficiency Rating will be awarded to any NASA Sport Scale or SAMAA Stand-off-Scale or higher category pilot who has achieved a minimum average flying score of 55% at any recognised national competition.
- A SAMAA Gold Proficiency Rating will be awarded to any NASA Sport Scale or NASA Stand-off-Scale or higher category pilot who has achieved a minimum average flying score of 60% at any recognised national competition.
